I got stage to work. Heres how for anyone with Sabayon Linux that is having
problems. I located rgb.txt in /usr/share/X11 and use the cp command like
this cp /usr/share/X11/rgb.txt /usr/X11R6/lib/X11 I couldn't
get the symbolic links to work so I tried copying and that works. Thanks for
everyone's help.

Detect the most common two or three locations at configure time and if
we dont find it fall back on a distributed copy? Does it ever change? I
dont think their would be an issue with just installing one with stage
if that is the easiest, its not a large file (20k).
A quick locate rgb.txt shows I already have 5 of these on my system
(ubuntu feisty) and only one of them differs from the others
(distributed with latex2html)

What's the best total solution for this, folks? Should we distribute
a copy of rgb.txt and install it with libstage?

There have been a lot of issues with different distributions having
rgb.txt in different places, try a "locate rgb.txt" and it will
show you
where it is on your distribution, you may need to symlink it to one of
the expected places.

I don't know why you dont have the rgb.txt file. Well I am
uploading my
rgb.txt file. Put this file in "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11". Make sure you
rebuild
stage (no need to do anything to player) Goodluck
