Filters are your friend.

Use one or more filters to select the branches you want, then export them to either XML or a package if you want to include image references. Import that export to a new tree and bingo!

It won't be as eaasy s the above if you aren't creating a database form a nice clean branch, but it is certainly quicker than retyping or cut & paste.
