I'm not against it. But I do ask that you find a partner to work on it with you (or at least to follow along and check your work). As I remember it, the discussion about the final fate of libhtml was inconclusive. I don't remember exactly what the final contention points were.

Neither do I -- I only remember that there was talk about extending it out to be able to handle more task!  Gerald had already said that he would help me as I need it with NarrativeWeb.py.  Is that option still available as it is needed?

But I don't want you to do a bunch of work using a library that people still want to change.

As far as changes being made to libhtml.py:  I asked Gerald a few days ago, and he said that it was stable and ready to be used!  If I am wrong, please chime in, Gerald?

I also agree with Stephane - please try to find a way to make the changes that NavWeb won't be broken in the source repository.

I will do my best to not break it!  I will keep it in my own sources until I can make sure it is not broken!  I can also share my changes with different people to possibly have them run through it to make sure it is not broken first.  Do I have any volunteers???

I do remember how broken it was!  Using libhtml will make some things to be more compliant with xhtml 1.0 standards.  For example, the header section will be compliant with http://validator.w3.org...

Thank you for the vote of confidence...

Still open for comments and suggestions...  I will not start until this coming weekend to give time for discussion!

Sincerely Yours,
Rob G. Healey
