Hello: I apologize for contacting you, but I couldn’t find an answer in the FAQs or on the Apple Support website.
I have an old but much-loved HP Laserjet 3200 that used to print both wired and wirelessly from my Macbooks with OS 10.4 and OS 10.5; Gutenprint 5.2.3v was pre-installed on both. One day I had to disconnect the printer from the OS 10.5 Macbook, and when I reconnected it, it would no longer print wirelessly from either computer (USB printing has been fine).
I subsequently upgraded to OS 10.6, Snow Leopard, but the 3200 still won’t print wirelessly, only via cable.
Unfortunately, I inherited the printer and don’t have the documentation that came with it, though I seem to remember that it was a “3200se.” I looked on the back of the printer, but all I found there was a model number (C7053A), the serial number, and the scan code. However, I guess it must have come with a wireless card, since it printed wirelessly until I disconnected and reconnected it that one time.
I looked on your website to see if there’s an updated version of Gutenprint that I should be using for Snow Leopard, but couldn’t find anything.
Can you tell me what the problem might be, or where to turn to find out? I love the printer, but I’m redesigning my office, and if I can’t get the 3200 to work, I’ll have to buy a replacement that can print wirelessly.
Again, sorry to bother you. Thanks so much for any information or advice you may have!
Sincerely,
Dona Munker
