Hi,

 

I have installed ganglia-gmond-3.0.3-1.rhel4.x86_64.rpm on RHEL4-U3 but when I try to check the status I get the following message.

 

[root@xfd22 ~]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/gmond status
gmond dead but subsys locked
 

I tried to start by setting the debug level to 100 and I see the following message.

 

[root@xfd22 ~]# /usr/sbin/gmond
udp_recv_channel mcast_join=239.2.11.71 mcast_if=NULL port=8649 bind=239.2.11.71
Error creating multicast server mcast_join= 239.2.11.71 port=8649 mcast_if=NULL family='inet4'. Exiting.
 

Is it not able listen to the multicast address ? multicast is enabled on this switch and ganglia on RHEL3 is running fine. We are upgrading it to RHEL4 and gmond is not able to start on RHEL4.

 

Any help on this issue is highly appreciated.
