I attempted to use 7 zip v3.11 to compress a folder of files with enhanced inflate with solid and .exe features.
No matter what amount of files I try to do it with i get out of memory error.
I have 128 mb ram and a 1/2 gig mhz processor.

I think maximum uses about the same as Winrar so about 80MB. But you just can't use Ultra with only 128MB of memory and you can't use switches that use more than 128MB of memory.
Buy more ram :)

You sure can make swithes that use (more?) less ram than 128MB, write this in parameters 0=lzma:d=23:fb=128:mf=bt4:a=2 f=off it will probarbly be slow compressing but you can lower a or fb to speed it up (btw .exe feature seriosly lowers compression ratio)

What is your operating system?
With only 128 MB, you won't be able to use Ultra; it takes 310 MB. Even Maximum may start to swap.
