Ok so I followed the link for the CD and DVD media download and downloaded. But when I open it, there is no ISO file. I get an IMA file:
DBAN_1_0_7_I386.IMA
There is no ISO file anywhere within the download and I've downloaded it ten times now and scrummaged through all the other files and folders but I lack the ISO file.
Anyone help me out here please?

dajorn - if the IMA file is the ISO, then I believe I burned the image correctly when using NERO. (Had NERO burn 'DBAN_1_0_7_I386.IMA'.) Is this correct?
If so, when booting from my Dell laptop I am getting the following:
[DR-DOS] A:\
I have entered 'autonuke' with no avail as "Command or filename not recognized"
Is this correct or have I totally missed something? Please advise and thanks in advance!

That file you downloaded *is* the ISO. The IMA file that you can see is inside the ISO.

DBAN does not contain DR-DOS. Where did you download the ISO file?

The right way to burn DBAN with Nero Burning ROM is by clicking:
-> Recorder -> Burn Image -> dban.iso
If any of the Nero burning default options have been changed, then you will get a broken DBAN CD-R or DVD-R.
The only supported way of burning the DBAN iso file is described here:

dajorn - thanks for the prompt reply! When going through NERO, I select the following:
Burn Image to Disc > NERO then prompts me to search for 'Image Files (*.nrg,*.iso,*.cue)'
I can not see the ISO file. I have enclosed a screenshot:
