Summary
The log of the meeting can be read here.
Here's a short summary :
- What's still to achieve for the 1.4.0.
- #15 Simplix skilling not balanced with USR one : nearly done, simply needs tests; Wolf-Dieter's checking some pitting issues though
- #27 Car livery issues for some robots : just done ( + brand new Simplix Cavallo 360 liveries by Haruna)
- #66 Controls menu bugs : JP's working on it and will fix it in a day or 2.
- #73 Deadzone not working for analog gamepad : JP's working on it and will fix it in a day or 2.
- #81 Some 3D model issues on Corkscrew : Andrew's working on it and will fix it in a day or 2.
- #28 (the "force" bug) was not for the 1.4.0 milestone, but seems to be fixed (WD did it)
- we agree on running extensive test in the next week, create the 1.4.0 tag and publish a release candidate on SF.net in the next week-end, then the final one (simple package renaming) some days after (after the needed time to check that packages are OK). Last trunk to sdl-port merge work will start right after publishing the RC, and will probably be a week long (Jean-Philippe and/or Mart). When done, trunk will be moved to branches/1.4.x, and branches/sdl-port to trunk.
- Eckhard is working on our future great web site (previews here and here)
- Discussion about things which might need a 1.4.x maintenance release.
- more fined tuned LS1 human setups,
- Simplix and USR setups for LS1 are also proposed, but is new feature, not simple bug fix ...
- Haruna is annoyed by #57,
- JP lists tickets #75, #76, #40, #56 as possible easy to fix ones ones too,
- but, on the other hand, not very critical, so may be no need to issue a release for that, as it is much work.
- as a conclusion, JP says that he'd prefer to postpone minor bug fixing to 2.0
- Discussion about features, artists, developers and other tasks, for 2.0.
- A quite messy discussion mainly on things people would like to work on or have done in 2.0.
- All these ideas, as well as other thoughs coming from previous discussions are now carefully arranged in the Wiki "2.0 features"-dedicated page).
- Also in this page a small description of the process we'll use in order to converge to a reasonable TODO list for 2.0.
- JP proposes we freeze the 2.0 TODO list in a month, after voting for priorities, estimating the amount of work and time to achieve each task, choosing the sub-teams who'll work on items, and carefully checking that we really _can_ do each choosed task on-time
- 2.0 roadmap.
- We agree that 2.0 has to be released in 2010.
- As we already have a large lists of features for it, it seems that the very end of 2010 is better.
- With an intermediate beta release around october.
- JP after the meeting : No more detailled road map for the moment, but we'll have to freeze more detailed dates right after feature freeze, with fall back scenarios.
- A general question round, if we have time
- No time ;-)
Something nice to notice : we never saw as many people in a monthly meeting : Xavier, Kilo, Eckhard, Jean-Philippe, Wolf-Dieter, Haruna, Kristof, Cedric and BiGBeN at the end.
