Using the file management service for backups
You may also use the Shell service in order to preform preparatory commands such as tar, or mysqldump to generate additional file data before a backup. Please be kind and remove an generated file data after the backup is complete.
In the following examples replace U with the first letter of your SourceForge.net username, US with the first two letters of your username, USER with your entire username. Apply a similar algorithm for PROJECT. rsync is the preferred method for performing these backups.
Synchronize your SourceForge.net home directory to a local copy:
rsync -avzPL -e ssh USER@web.sourceforge.net:/home/users/U/US/USER ./sf-net-backup-homedir
Synchronize your SourceForge.net project directory to a local copy:
rsync -avzPL -e ssh USER,PROJECT@web.sourceforge.net:/home/groups/P/PR/PROJECT ./sf-net-backup-projectdir
The File Management System WebDAV service only permits uploads of file data, it is not useful for backup purposes.
FTP service is not a service offering of the File Management System
