Locked out of Admin with MantisBT after changing user details

Reported by: dgarratt Owned by: ceverest
Keywords: SOG Cc: davegarratt@…
Private: no

I changed my own user profile from the general user admin list (not via the "my account" option) - I changed my username from dgarratt to daveg and the email address from dgarratt@… to support@… - the system appeared to pause and came back with a blank screen after that I could only get back onto the system with reporter access.

My Project is called commander4j

I have notice that I get different results depending on the url I use when I logon.

The above url onlt gives me reporter access, whereas the url gives me admin rights ?

Is this different behavoir to be expected ?

The more I look the less I understand - I now suspect that I have 2 mantis databases - 1 registered to my personal sourceforge user Id and 1 regstered to my project - commander4j.

The latter has a problem and needs to be fixed. - either by making sure that user dgarratt has admin rights once more - or if that is difficult - reseting the whole thing including the database so I can re-install from scratch and start again.

You should still only have one database :-) However, you can't use a different username in MantisBT. It must match your SF site username. When you renamed your MantisBT app user, a new user was created automatically from your SF site username. This is normal behavior to make sure that all users can at least get reporter access.

To fix, just go back to the Feature Settings of project commander4j and click on Grant Admin for MantisBT and dgarrat should get Admin access back. Afterward, you should be able to clean up your failed userid (daveg).

Hope this helps.

I missed you in IRC before getting a change to answer your question, but you can certainly use a different email address in the MantisBT application.
