Cannot use simplepie in project web site

Description

When attempting to use news feed reader SimplePie on a PHP page hosted by sourceforge, I discovered that the page does not error nor does it generate a diagnostic message in the Apache error log but it always returns no results from this news feed which is not empty. The SimplePie compatibility test indicates that the environment on the web server is a good one.

Do you block outbound URL requests from the web server?
