File Manager issues
|Reported by:||hans_artmann||Owned by:||jwigglesworth|
In the file description, the point 'select as default for download' cannot be activated.
Using WinSCP I can see uplaods, userweb, and the .* files in the first place. Changing into one of the directories uploads or userweb works, changing back does not work as expected, i.e. symlinks are not followed correctly.
This is confusing and inconvenient.
Using the shell service I could change into userweb but changing into updates was refused.
I also couldn't access the project directories of posper, which I've administration rights for. I simply wanted to move a 30M file I had alredy uploaded to uploads to the correct project folder - this was impossible.
I don't want to repeat the many community comments on the new layout and structure, just the following:
. too pale and some fonts too small (hard to read),
. far from intuitive (e.g. assigning a release note took me a while and why is the file still visible on it's own?
Too many good things vanished like
. file management in packages (now ordered the wrong way),
. monitoring doesn't work for releases any more,
. MediaWiki link is hidden in a submenu of the developer area
. and more
It takes me more time to figure out where things are and how they work in the new layout than it did in the first place and performance didn't exactly improve.
I know you guys ment to do a good job and certainly did in many respects but following the rules of change management and doing
some functional and usability tests before going online wouldn't have hurt.
