Commits: user mixup with git & activity log

Description

Hi,

For my new project (named libcmm) I chose git for scm.
If you look at the project's activity log you see git
commits by sourceforge user ralf where it actually
was sourceforge user rjuengling who made these commits.
It seems like the activity log app pulls the committer
info from the wrong place?

Ralf (rjuengling)

Hi Ralf,

We looked into this a bit thinking it was an issue for one team. We are now believing that this is an issue that we need to engage with our engineering (site code) team.

The git repository has the correct informaton: http://libcmm.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=libcmm but the https://sourceforge.net/projects/libcmm/ activity log is showing the wrong user.

We need to address that.

If you need anything else, please post a response to this request.

Cheers!,

Daniel Hinojosa - Sr. Manager, SourceForge.net Support

P.S., Be sure to monitor our Site Status page, https://sourceforge.net/sitestatus.

Similarly, the branch reported for commits are showing up incorrectly. The activity log for the Supybot project exhibits this. We haven't committed to a branch other than master for a couple months, yet the activity log is showing commits to master branch as coming from other branches.

Hi

Per our git documentation, you need to set your username and email address in your local git conf file. Otherwise, git will default to using your local username when making commits. Updating your local git conf should resolve this issue. Please let us know if that does not clear this up.

At least in the case of the Supybot repository, all commits were done with username and email address set properly in my local git config. Even with that, the activity log is showing incorrect information (and is severely outdated).

Ok, I changed the email address in my local git conf file to my sourceforge email and made a commit yesterday. I am not seeing this commit in the libcmm "Project Feed" today. So, it looks broken in a different way now.
