Extra backslashes added in an email send through SourceForge "send message" form

I just send a message from one SourceForge user (me, "kambi") to another ("vcejka"). I did it using the "Send a Message" form (linked from recipient's profile https://sourceforge.net/users/vcejka/ ). I checked the "CC Sender" button, and in the email I see that all apostrophes and double quotes in my message body have been preceded by backslashes:

It looks like you have PHP magic quotes turned "on".

I'm going to close this ticket out as "wontfix" because we have plans to do a complete re-write of this feature, but we're not going to fix this individually in the meantime.
