Statistics reset when release files are moved using shell

Reported by: keller91711 Owned by: ctsai
Keywords: ENGR AT-687 Cc:
Private: no

As best I can tell, if one moves release files to a folder using the shell interface (the only way to do it now?) all download statistics are lost.

Is there any way to recover from this annoying trait?

Developers should be forwarned that this is going to happen.

The download statistics are currently tied to the path and filename, if you move the file back to where it was, it should "regain" the old statistics. The team is planning on changing this, but this change has not been implemented yet.

That was helpful. Thanks!

I've discussed this with the team again, and after some deliberation, we've made the decision that maintaining the file stats after a rename/move is not feasible due to the way the stats system is designed.
