Ticket #1968 (closed: fixed)

Opened 4 years ago

Last modified 4 years ago

OpenID: login returns "Only lowercase letters, and digits are allowed in usernames."

Reported by: sladen Owned by: hinojosa
Keywords: ENGR openID Cc:
Private: no

Description

Attempting to login using OpenID fails with "Only lowercase letters, and digits are allowed in usernames."

Whereas OpenIDs *have* to contain "http" and ":" and "/" and "." otherwise they aren't OpenIDs...

Ideally logging in with OpenID should "just work", or at least provide an error message and provides information to the user sufficient to attempt to resolve the issue.

Hi,

The engineering team rolled out updates to our OpenID implementation today that I believe has resolved this issue.

Please see our Site Documentation for OpenID for other updated details.
