UI: Trove data display hidden

Reported by: eusu_kefuin Owned by: hinojosa
Keywords: CONSUME Cc:
Private: no

Description

Previously one can see the license of a particular project easily through project details. But, now such information disappears. This in my opinion greatly affects user experience in using SF because license is a crucial matter when picking up free software or open source software.

Change History

The same holds for the release notes that should be available from the summary page of the project.

Or all the other details, that are available only when searching for a project (example: http://sourceforge.net/search/?type_of_search=soft&words=kablink&search=Search) and not while browsing on the projects pages...

Also as another thing, the download statistics are available, once one is in the statistics section (e.g. by clicking in SVN statistics or forum statistics) you can select downloads but not from the projects page itself, at least I haven't found it.

Possible solutions:
(Re)integrate project details in the project pages right under the point summary

Add link to download statistics right under Files or just delete the single statistics links and have a project statistics link some as separate point or in the rightside. (Just one link that links to the statistics overview. E.g. http://sourceforge.net/project/stats/index.php?group_id=11939&ugn=freelords)

Hello,

This issue has been fixed now. You can find the license right under the green download button from the project summary pages for projects.

Best regards,

Daniel Hinojosa - Sr. Manager, SourceForge.net Support

I'd like you to reopen this issue. "Show project details" does show Date, Topics & License, but OS, Audience, Development Status, Trove etc. are still missing. The old interface didn't have a very polished look, I agree, but it was *way more useful*. I hope you fix this.

I definitely agree with rubempech. Not only the license should be shown in project details but also a link to the whole trove information (e.g., development status, OS, audience, etc.)

Since this ticket cannot be reopened (I get an error message when I select "reopen" as the action: `Warning: No permission to change ticket fields.'), I created a new ticket: https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/sourceforge/ticket/4915
