Project creation failed and other wierdness

Description

One more time, and then I give up.

I just spent 10 minutes detailing what I am experiencing on your site, and then lost all my work by the same problem. What I'm talking about is that every time I navigate on your site, I am getting asked to log in over and over again.

So far I've had no ability to change my profile using firefox, though in IE it seem to work. I tried changing my password and my security question and in firefox, both attempts hung the page. In IE, the process completed.

In both firefox and IE, I am getting asked continually for my password, which interrupted the project creation process and seems to have resulting in a "phantom" project that I can neither edit or delete. The project URL stub name is "fcts-loghound". When I click on the link in my profile, it results in a 404 page. I never got to the point of selecting the various service for the project during the creation process due to getting interrupted by the password page. This is very frustrating.

I've restarted both my browser windows (IE and Firefox) and with both browsers I am continually asked to log into the site, even when selecting "remember me" every time. I'm at a loss and very discouraged considering this is the first time I've tried to create a project on your site.

You can delete the phantom project - fcts-loghound. I guess I will try one more time to created it once the name is available again. Could you give me any reason as to why this is happening?

Hello,

I have removed the errant 'fcts-loghound' that was created during your first registration process. Please feel free to try to register the project again, either as a beta project or a normal project, and let me know if you are successful in doing so.

As for the logout issue, the login sessions are tied to both a cookie as well as your IP address, so users will sometimes see the behavior you describe when the browser is not accepting cookies from our site, or if they're in a situation where the IP address may change (this can happen sometimes when behind a corporate proxy or something similar).

Regards,
Chris Tsai, SourceForge.net Support
