Homing during program execution using Limit switches

REFERENCE: TICKET # 13085

I DID NOT REALIZE YOU WERE A HOSTING PROVIDER. HOPE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION HELPS:

I AM A NEW USER OF EMC2 USING UBUNTU-8.04.3.
PREVIOUS PROGRAMS I USED ALL USED THE HOME LIMIT SWITCHES AS A PART OF THE HOMING SEQUENCE.
EMC2 ONLY USES LIMIT SWITCHES AT THE START OF EACH NEW PROGRAM; INVOKING THE G28 HOMING COMMAND IN THE MIDDLE OF ANY PROGRAM ONLY RESULTS IN THE PROGRAM GOING TO THE POSITION CALCULATED (BELIEVED)TO BE HOME. THIS LOCATION CAN BE CORRUPTED BY SMALL ERRORS IN BACKLASH CORRECTIONS (e.g., LIKE CUTTING GEARS WITH A LARGE NUMBER OF TEETH, AND THEN CUTTING AN ARBOR, AND REMOVING EXCESS WOOD WITHIN THE GEAR TO REDUCE WEIGHT.)

AT THE PRESENT TIME, I HAVE TO SEGMENT EACH OF THE PROGRAM PARTS TO PERFORM A "HOMING" USING THE LIMIT SWITCHES (i.e., I CAN'T CONCATENATE ALL THE PARTS OF THE PROGRAM).

I HOPE THIS IS NOT MY ONLY ALTERNATIVE.

THANKS FOR ANY HELP OR INSIGHT

Hello,

We cannot help you with this, you will need to contact the project that you are having trouble with directly.

It is not clear from your message what software you're trying to use, so I don't know what team to direct you to, however, all projects on our site have a link that says "Support" (not to be confused with "Site Support" which is for help with the website itself), that should give you some options for how to get help from them.

Regards,
Chris Tsai, SourceForge.net Support
