Ticket #12680 (closed: self-service)

I can't find LocalSettings.php to configure my project's MediaWiki

Reported by: profw Owned by: hinojosa

I enabled MediaWiki for eli-project. A Main Page was created, and I uploaded the Eli logo file. The instructions state that I need to set $wgLogo in file LocalSettings.php to the file name of the logo. The File Path special page gave me 3/3d/EliLogo.gif, so I assume that's the file name. But I can't find LocalSettings.php.

I looked at this ticket via "Preview", and all of the file names have question marks after them. Please ignore those question marks.

The question marks and grey'd out text are due to the text being entered in CamelCase. Using a ! before CamelCase eliminates that.

For the MediaWiki issue, this is how the current configuration is set. In the Hosted Apps shared space, at present, we do not have the ability for individual users to edit these properties.

You may want to review our IdeaTorrent Request For Enhancement (RFE ) facilty. We have a number of items for MediaWiki that include this specific issue. Voting up such items will help us appreciate what is most valuable to the community.

OK, I probably asked the wrong question. Let me try again: I just enabled MediaWiki for eli-project. It came up with a first page, the last item of which was titled "Project Logo".
The instructions were "Click on the following image to upload a new version of the PNG logo image for your project:" I've done that, but the uploaded logo does not appear as the project logo. One of my colleagues enabled MediaWiki on his (not a project) account, and managed to replace the "SF" logo. Unfortunately, he doesn't remember exactly what he did. So my question is, how do I get the project logo replaced by the one I uploaded?

Ah, that is more clear. I was able to update the logo on my project MediaWiki page using this link:

Give that a try and confirm that worked. That link is available on the default home page. If that page is changed before the logo is updated, you can loose the link.
