Is Statistic->Downloads correct?

my project is opencobol2java. On 5-2-2010, Statistics->Downloads show as 94, while Piwik shows much much less. I uploaded on the same day, but did not do any download. Is this number in error or has any meaning?

Hi,

I was able to recreate the problem today (06 May 2010 ) also. All I did was to upload a file as usual and later when I checked Project->Statistics it shows 46 download while Piwik shows again much less.

Please tell me what is happening if and when you figure it out.

I'd trust our download stats over the Piwik ones any day. Piwik cannot track the downloads using the same methods that we do, and any users with direct links, etc. etc. won't trigger it to count. So given all the possibilities there, I'd just ignore them.
