Overview
LipiTk (Lipi Toolkit) is a toolkit for online Handwriting Recognition (HWR). It uses standard ink representations (UNIPEN) for development of algorithms and HWR-based tools. The toolkit exposes a standard interface, simplifying their integration into penbased applications.
Lipi toolkit is created and maintained by HP Labs India.
Components of LipiTk
LipiTk consists of the following components:
1. Lipi Core Toolkit
Lipi core toolkit facilitates the development of online handwriting recognition engines for scripts, like Devanagari, Tamil etc,. The toolkit allows the user to train and evaluate recognizers, package and integrate the recognizers into a pen-based application. For more details, visit Core Toolkit.
2. Standalone Tools
LipiTk includes standalone tools in addition to the core toolkit. For example, Handwriting data collection tools, released under this category provide the user interface to collect handwriting data samples from different writers, in UNIPEN format. For more details, visit Standalone Tools.
3. Applications
Applications built using the Lipi toolkit available for download are listed here.
4. Pre-built Recognizers
Pre-built recognizers consist of trained shape recognizers that are built using LipiTk. The pre-built recognizers can be used to create pen-based applications. For more details, visit Pre built recognizers.
