for extra Impulse Response or/and reverb. For simple usage we have create a settings widget witch will produce a config file for jconv.

Note that this is NO REALTIME CONTROLL WIDGET, it only create a *.config file witch will used to start jconv.
To save the file you need to press "OK" in this widget. To start jconv you need to press "run jconv" in the guitarix main window. Jconv start connected parallel to the guitarix out, the only realtime controll for jconv is the wet/dry slider in the guitarix main window, with that you can mix the output from jconv and guitarix to your needs.
So, how to use the settings widget :
select a *.wav file you wont to use as Impulse Response file, when the Sample Rate doesn't fit to the Jack Sample Rate you can Re-sample the file. The original file will saved with a .orig extension. NOTE: you can also cancel this and use the file as it is.
The file will be display in the wave view widget. You can select a part of the file or use the hole file.
The (green) marked part is the part witch will used. offset is the left site, length is the right side.
offset 0 and length 0 means, use the complete file, offset cut the samples at the begin (left side), length cut the samples at the end of file (right side).
When there is no selection (right click with the mouse), the hole file will used.
offset and length will display as tool-tip, when you move the mouse over the wave view widget.
So you select the part you wont to use : move the mouse-pointer to were you wont to have the offset point, press the mouse and move it to the point were you will set the length. The actuell sample point in the file will display as tool-tip (offset length).
When you have select a part and you not happy with it, you can move it with the middle (wheel) mouse button pressed, you can delete it with the right mouse-button pressed, and you can change the length when you press and move the right button.
The hole file is display in the wave view widget, depends on the length from the file (how many samples) the view is compressed in the horizontal . Every file is displayed in 300 pix.
The vertical view is never compressed.
You can see often some small hight impulses at the file begin, I experience that the offset after this Impulses make the sound more round. Often you seen like nothing to the end off the file, set the length before that, remove mostly the re-verb.
Set the mode to your needs, NOTE that you can use only /impulse/copy when you use a 1 channel file.
Set the partition size to your needs, normal it will be the same as the Jack Buffer Size.
Set the max. mem size to your needs, you can set it higher if you have enough mem on your system, this is only a max size setting.
Set the gain to your needs and press "OK". Now you can start jconv with "run jconv". To stop jconv press this button again. To change your settings, press again the "jconv settings" button. To save your settings persistent, save a preset in guitarix, the jconv settings will save together with the guitarix settings and you can reload it with the preset.
that's it
