I have now been given admin access to the Sourceforge project.

As a consequence, I have now granted admin access to rksimon and cazfi.

What such target you have in mind that autotools couldn't support but cmake could? In my experience one uses cmake/qmake etc for their relative ease of use when they are sufficient for the work, but if task is really demanding, one has to use autotools. I'd select autotools just for the wider support (I've got several systems where autotools based build would happen automagically, but cmake based build would be hard to support).
