ReservedOutboundWorkers creates lazy workers

Postby closco » Thu Jul 02, 2009 4:34 pm

Hello

ASSP Version: 2.0.1(RC 0.3.01)
Current PID: 4120
OS: MSWin32 (2000)
Perl Version: 5.010000

I've noticed that this is not working on my server, in fact it actually keeps the amount on reserved workers sleeping forever no matter where the connections are coming from.
If I create 10 workers and reserve say 3 for Outbound/Relaying then I'll only have 7 workers available as the other 3 remain sleeping. In the SMTP connections window I can see the "Y" in the relaying column but they will use worker 1-7 much like any other SMTP connection, and no matter how many SMTP connections are active the 3 reserved will remain sleeping. If I decrease the amount of reserved workers to 1 then 9 out of 10 workers are available.

Thanks for all the hard work!

closo,

the ReservedOutboundWorkers are used IP(port)-based. Only connections on 'relayPort' are transfered to the reserved workers. So, if you are not using 'relayPort', do not reserve any workers.
