Is V1 dead? How do I upgrade to V2?

Postby dessergroup » Sun Dec 16, 2012 4:48 pm

I recently upgraded to the latest V1 and have an issue but have not had any responses on the v1 forum. On closer inspection it seams that there is not much activity there.

Where can I find instructions for the upgrade from V1 to V2? My volumes are not high but if I can't get support on V1 then I suppose I have to move to V2.

There are several threads about V1->V2 upgrade here in this forum.

I recommend to do a fresh install for V2 - all V1 files and databases are compatible to V2 - also most of the assp.cfg parameters.

notice: use Perl 5.12/5.14 for Windows or 5.12-5.16 for linux !!

Keep in mind: ASSP V2 is for professionals - to use V2 you'll need more than basic knowledge about SMTP, system design, database design and management - and some Perl skills are wellcome

Join the assp-test mailing list - there you'll get some more information.

Btw.: your issue with V1 (HELO without a hostname -> 501 syntax error) will be the same in V2! I've answered in the V1 forum to your question!

Thank you for your prompt response here and in the V1 thread. I have commented there.
