Welcome to the XvBA Tools Wiki

XvBA Tools is a library and small tool suite for demonstrating use of AMD's XvBA (X-Video Bitstream Acceleration) API. It includes:

libxvbat
XvBA Tools library;
xvbainfo
a tool for querying XvBA capabilities;
xvbaplay
a sample media player illustrating how to use XvBA to accelerate video decoding on Linux using AMD's Universal Video Decoder (UVD); and
xvbatrace
a tool for tracing XvBA API calls, useful for debugging and testing.

XvBA Tools is a companion to AMD's XvBA SDK, available separately from AMD.

It requires the ATI Catalyst Proprietary Display Driver, sometimes known as fglrx.
