SMT: SAR Management Toolkit is an experimental Java application for assisting in the management of land searches for missing persons. It seeks to integrate several strands of modern search management theory - Bayesian recalculation of probabilities in search segments, and reflex tasking and probabilities based on missing person behavior statistics. GIS capabilities are embedded through the use of OpenJump.

- Current state: 0.8 - Beta. Describe missing subject. Draw search area on map. Segment map. Assign probabilities to segments (Mattson/O'Connor/from statistical zones, and from merged human consensus and statistical zones). Assign resources to search segments. Calculate changing probabilities as areas are searched. Print task assignment forms. Edit configuration files. Print operational planning worksheet. Allow users to provide subject profile statistics. Log clues.
- Release 0.9 - Beta. Add support for more ICS forms. Group assignments into operational periods. Group assignments by Division/Branch/Group. Add experimental PostGIS persistence for map layers. Display more information on timeline.
- Release 1.0 - Split client/server, allow running with multiple simultaneous users. Full database persistence support. Document search. App client for task assignment/reporting.
