Download the source
The source zip file for pykeylogger is freely available for download from SourceForge file servers.
If you feel adventurous, you could also pull the latest from the project git repository.
Download the binary (executable)
The compiled binary package for Windows is available on the SourceForge file servers.
Support this project and get rid of nags!
Being the proverbial "starving grad student", I strongly encourage you to help me out and donate to the project. The releases available on the file server show a "welcome message" (aka nag screen) upon start, and also "expire" after 4 days. There are two ways to get rid of these nags:
1. Donate $35 USD to the project
If you want me to send you a compiled binary (or source code zip archive) of PyKeylogger without these nags, donate $35 USD to this project, and upon receipt of the donation I will build and send you the no-nag binary or source archive. As an added bonus, you could also get a "stealthed" pykeylogger build (meaning, the binaries, icons, ini files are all innocuously-named, the process description in task manager is also innocuous).
Follow these steps to take this approach:
- Make a donation to the project of $35 [or more :)].
- In the comment section, indicate that you want the binary.
Almost always, I will send you the binary the same day. If it so happens that you do not get anything within a day or two, you can send me email using this web form.
2. Get the source, make a change
Instead of having me do it for you, you can do it all yourself. Get the latest PyKeylogger source, install the supporting libraries, modify the code to remove the nag (it's a simple change), and even build your own Windows executable if you want it.
The complete code, including code to build the binary or source archives, is available and included with the PyKeylogger distribution. Detailed and easy-to-follow instructions installing and using the source are available.
Even if you choose to follow this path, I encourage you to support this free software project, if you find it useful.
After I donate, do I get free no-nag updates when new versions are released?
Strictly speaking, the donation is for the service of building the binary or source archive, not for a "license" to the software (which is GPL). So in short, no :). However, I suppose if I make a new release within six months since you made a donation, and you notify me that you want the new release, then sure, I'll send you the updated no-nag binary without requiring another donation. Thus, I recommend you to sign up for pykeylogger-announce mailing list, which is used to email release notifications for PyKeylogger.
