Exhibit view is a more advanced view that is particularly useful with blogs with many posts and multiple authors. It allows for more customisable filtering options.
Selecting Exhibit View
To view a blog using Exhibit View select the 'Exhibit View' link in the sidebar under the 'This Blog' subheading. An indication of how many posts match the filter criteria is indicated by the number in the top left.
Filtering posts by date
To view all posts from a certain date range use the calendar in the right sidebar. To select a start date click once on the calendar, the day will turn blue. To select the end date click once again on a day preceding that date. Exhibit view will apply a filter on posts between the two selected dates. Alternatively, it is possible to enter the dates manually in the box below in the format of yyyy-mm-dd. A checkbox will appear above the calendar to indicate the span of the days selected. An example is show below.
Filtering by section
To filter by section click on on of the Sections in the box. A grey number to the left of the section indicates the number of the posts in that section.
To select multiple sections at once, use the check boxes on the right.
Filtering by author
To filter by author click on one of the authors in the box. Similarly, a number will indicate the number of posts that author has made on the currently selected blog.
Once the initial search filters have been applied, these results can be ordered by using the panel at the top of the screen. By default, results are sorted by date.
To change this, click on the 'date' link and a drop down menu will appear. You can choose to sort from
- Author URI
- Change Types
- Change Item
To perform an ascending sort check the "a-z" box. To perform a descending sort check the "z-a" box. To apply another criterion select the "then by" link.
