Examples of grid-enabled applications

Here you can find free applications already grid-enabled. They are classified by sector. The grid-enabled application come as a .mod file, which can be directly imported into Fura. Once imported you can then create specific jobs related to the application.

Simple examples (no specific sector)
In order to import a .mod file, the first step is uploading it to Fura's file system, using the File Viewer tool from the Portal. Then, launch GridStudio tool, go to Modules | List, and click the Import Module icon
. You can only import one module at a time.
This action opens up the File Viewer tool at your home directory level. Search for the module file you want to import. Remember that it must be a .mod file.
Select the file to import by clicking on its name once. You will see the filename in question appear in the Picked file box.
If the file selected is not a .mod file or if the module in question already existed in GridStudio, you will get an error message.
NOTE: You cannot have two modules with the same name. If you want to import a module a second time, you have to delete it first.
Some of the examples also include a .tsk file. This contains a ready-to-run job or task, for the corresponding module or grid-enabled application. Please, find below the instructions on how to import a .tsk file.
In order to import a .tsk file, the first step is uploadiing it to Fura's file system, using the File Viewer toll from the Portal. Then, launch GridTask tool and click the Import Task icon

You can only import one file at a time.
This action opens up the File Viewer application at your home directory level. Search for the task file you want to import. Remember that it must be a *.tsk file.
Select the file to import by clicking on its name once. You will see the filename in question appear in the Choose task file to import box. Click on OK.
The system will let you rename the task that is being imported, thus avoiding conflicts when trying to import a task twice or more if needed. It will take the new name if given, and if no new name is give, the task will be imported with its original name. Click on the Accept button.
If the file selected is not a *.tsk file or if the task in question already existed, you will get an error message.
NOTE: You can only import tasks whose associated modules exist in your Grid Server.
