Bloop now using SF Media wiki

I'm fairly certain all the articles/talk pages have been transferred over here now so this should now be considered the main Bloop site for now.

Cheers,

Zyzle

Welcome to Bloop

Bloop is (or rather will be) an open source 3D pong like game created solely with open source software. But that's not all, Bloop will also be an ongoing tutorial, where the development process will be documented as completely as possible and will hopefully be useful to people wanting to make a start in game development.

Tell us what you want to see! I have created a new section in the wiki: Wanted Articles in this anyone can post suggestions for what they want to see in the wiki as far as articles related to the bloop project, or even more general games programming, go.

Latest News:

Sorry but I don't think I can get the RSS feed working again have a look here instead.

Articles

There aren't many articles in the wiki at the moment, but here is a quick list of the main ones:

Bloop uses the following:

  • OGRE 3D, an LGPL 3D engine which has been in development for some time and is great to use :)
  • Python-OGRE, I cant be bothered learning C++ (not sure why but I've never liked it as a language), so for the development of the game I decided to go with Python.

For more information on what development tools we used in this project take a look at the Project Tools page.
