Idea #378: Find In Selection

Written by pshillan the 20 Apr 11 at 12:59. Category: Find / Replace dialog. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
Problem:

As a user, I want to highlight part of a file and then Find text that occurs only within the highlighted part.

Reason:

I find this an invaluable feature of the Eclipse IDE editor where, I guess, there is a two-level selection. You can select in the file and when you Ctrl-F (Find), you can search within the selection and your search term is also selected. The original selection remains the scope of the Find.

Solution #1: Two Levels of Selection
Written by pshillan the 20 Apr 11 at 12:59.
Two levels of selection. One is the selected text, the other is the selected term. Both can operate and the same time, while the Find dialog is being used.
