Specifications

Overview

There are a number of specifications that Adobe has released as open specifications. Developers can create applications using these specifications, free of royalties. Specifications are a way of providing access to ensure the openness of technologies. These in turn may lead to open source initiatives in their own right, for example, open source PDF creators/viewers (PDF creator), flash authoring tools.

Open specifications can also create a unique and vibrant ecosystem. e.g. PDF specification allowed for an active market to develop.

The following is a list of the open specifications that Adobe has released.
